Something magical …

Something magical ..

Caves drip rivulets
of silver
into a jade-green pool
uncovered
at low tide ..

a goby swims
its crystal waters,
brushing sand
with an imperceptible touch ..

A skeletal shrimp
rows between tiny islands
seeking safety in shade ..

A miniature world
exposed
to my gaze:
Something magical,
Something privileged
Something precious
to remember
in these times of unquiet days … .

Hello, Marya, and thank you again for your thoughts. I wonder if the little fishes and their friends suspect that we watch them and have thoughts about them? After all, knowledge doesn’t have to be conscious, does it? and yet have an effect. Some say that thinking is to the mind what light is to the eye.

Perhaps your little friends see your world as magical and mystical, as you see theirs. Perhaps they, too, mis-take you as their goddess? πŸ™‚

    Hello Jamie …

Well, I’m back to the internet and happy to see you here. πŸ™‚

I hope you and your family are all flourishing. Thank you very much for your interesting observations … I like the thought that thinking might be like light falling onto the retina … a closed mind an unthinking mind, perhaps ?

Btw ..I’m sure no little goby would ever mistake me for a goddess !

I’m so glad that you’re back to internetting, Marya, and look forward to more of your own special enlightening poetical thoughts. You seem to discern meaning in all that you see ; and, what’s more, you can write about it.

I trust, also, that all is well with you ; just as they are with me and my little tribe.

Just to make things clear : gobies and shrimps are known to form strong attachments to poets-in-the-sky. πŸ™‚

    Good morning, Jamie ..

    Yes, thank you, all’s well.

Thank you very much for your kind words. Well, I do feel there is significance in all aspects of our existence .. and sometimes this awareness is more acutely felt. I’m not very good at explaining myself .. that little fish and shrimp do it so much better πŸ™‚

Have a good day, Jamie, God bless.
