Mutable …

April light upon the sea

moves allegiance with the clouds;

quicksilver rolls along the horizon

with the intermittent sun;

a meniscus like mercury

arrests my eyes

but the effulgence fades

and dies;

the dark passage of rain

making memories of pewter

on mutable waters of jade … .
