Like a flame …

Like a flame

love burns my soul;

like a moth

I flutter;

with singed wings

I try to fly ..

to no avail

I exclaim;

I twist and turn

inside the pain ..

for there is no denying

that love

is vulnerability’s second name …

    Hello, Marya.
    You capture well the double-edge of love. It is as if there is a price to pay for our joys, perhaps to remind us of something. Perhaps the singed wings are the Receipt that marks our Giving.

    Hello, Jamie …

    Thank you very much.

    I like your thoughts … our human love is but a pale shadow compared with God’s love for us.

  4. Burning for love is sometimes the best way to reinvent yourself, Cornish poetess!…

    A dramatic conflagration then, Didacus 🙂
