The veiled moon …

The veiled moon sails on the purple seas of night

trailing skeins of misty cloud like hints of Autumn

in her wake ..

an owl cries,

passing on shadowed wings in stealthy flight

as the moon gleams bronze

on russet-tinted leaves of geranium;

illuminating, in her fitful light,

white petals melting into darkness

like harbingers of snow ..

the veiled moon obscures her face, sailing into day-break

in the mystery and silence of her realm of space … .

  1. Really beautiful expressions. *thumbs up*

  2. great scenery you’ve put out there 🙂

  3. Good evening, Sapphic poetess, and my compliments for your superlative , lunar, lines, before our ‘veiled’ and speedy moon, because of wind, rising in London East End, if cloods will concede some gap…

    Good evening, Didacus …

    Thank you very much for such kind compliments .. I’m pleased that you liked this poem.

    Well, I hope you do get a glimpse of ‘ the veiled moon’ tonight in Londinium . It’s very cloudy here in this part of Cornwall so I think she will remain mysterious tonight 🙂

    Yes, but one thing is certain she will be lighting someone’s pathway somewhere …
