The raindrop …

How tremulously the raindrop

balances upon the web;

glittering in the sunlight

glancing on the thread ..

one tear upon an eye-lash

might tremble so and fall,

but here among the purple blooms

beauty disguises all ..

the orb was spun; the trap was set,

it shimmers in the rain,

where beneath the sepals,

the spinner spins yet … .

  1. Good evening, Poetess! Your pretty idyll has a marked Grecian profile and a personal grace and lightness…

    Good evening, Didacus … it’s nice to see you ..

    Thank you very much for such complimentary words .. I’m pleased to know that you liked and enjoyed these few lines.

    Hope the raindrops in London fall as delicately as these ones did upon this clematis plant ..
