Imago …

Sleep, child, sleep

chrysalis,

in your warm cocoon

of night.

Wake, child, wake

moth-like

flutter to the moon

and catch the silver

stars of light.

Keep, child, keep

and memorise

the constellations

of your flight.

Make, child, make

a golden tune

of your earthbound

consolations.

Sing, child, sing

of the silent sounds

of stars and butterflies

when the day breaks

and the sun has dried your wings … .

    Thank you so much, Shermeen.
This was a poem that Christina O liked and was kind enough to comment on .. I gave it to her ..

The evolution of an earthly life – so true. They used to say that all lives follow the same pattern ; so we, too, are invited to that living transformation, that re-birth which gives rise to our truer selves. I read also that Man is the epitome of Nature …

Thank you very much, Jamie … yes, a metamorphosis devoutly to be desired 🙂

It’s a wondrous moment to see the birth of a butterfly .. I remember watching a chrysalis opening when I was a small child … and waiting and waiting for the wings of the emerging insect to dry and to disclose at the first flutter; a Red Admiral.
    Never to be forgotten …
