Atoms of stars
shine in our eyes,
creatures of earth
and celestial fire ..
Earthlings to Mars
stargazers still
drawn by the moon’s
magnetic desire ..
Splinters of stars
in atoms of mud
Lodestone of life
heaven- inspired ..
In wonder and awe
we looked to those skies –
in portents and signs saw
pestilence and flood ..
In bloodied moon,
harbinger of war;
in lightning and thunder-
the crack of doom.
I believe love came
to the human race –
through aeons of time
expanding in space –
in molecules of mystery ;
trace elements of grace … .
